The 2013 CMA Awards
red carpet fashions were a mixed bag (our favorite kind!) of hits and
misses. And with the biggest names in country music on hand for the
show, there were plenty of favorites to look out for, including Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Kacey Musgraves:
Worst Dressed: Taylor Swift somewhat predictably landed on red as her color of choice for the CMAs carpet, but we really wanted her to do something different than the typical prom styled gown. Her dress had some pretty detailing, but we were hoping for more of a standout choice from Tay.
Best Dressed: Hostess Carrie Underwood shimmered like the golden girl of the CMAs red carpet, looking absolutely stunning in a long gown that featured plenty of blingy detailing and a sheer bottom. Carrie's sleek hairstyle and ultra pretty makeup completed the knockout look.
Worst Dressed: Kacey Musgraves' dress confused us just a bit, with a mini dress at the center of a dreamy sheer overlay. But it was the sheer layer's floral pattern that we would have liked to have seen less of. Still, Kacey gets bonus points for her romantic loose curls and minimal makeup.
Best Dressed: Kellie Pickler never fails to impress, and even in a fairly reserved LBD, she brought all the attitude and sass to really sell the look. A little glimmer, an interesting neckline and Kellie's short wavy hair all rocked!
Worst Dressed: Jana Kramer's dress looked like a combo of goth and crazy water colors, and we weren't feeling it at all. We also think she could have lightened the dramatic makeup just a touch, but are loving her flowing locks. Win some, lose some.
Best Dressed: Miranda Lambert's dress practically screamed sexy on the red carpet. The gorgeous shade of blue was perfect for her skin tone, and the plunging neckline? Meow. It doesn't hurt to have eye candy like Blake Shelton by your side either (he tweeted: "My wife is so hot it's ridiculous").
Worst Dressed: Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town had such a bizarre combination of print topped dress and feather skirted bottom, we just couldn't wrap our head around the look. The only saving grace was the palate of black and silver, rather than a mish-mash of colors.
Best Dressed: Jennifer Nettles wowed with her ravishing champagne-toned dress, with gorgeous detailing on the upper body that fell below the hips with a beautiful full skirt. We love the combination of blinged-out plunging neckline on top and pretty princess on the bottom.
Worst Dressed: Cassadee Pope really took one of the biggest fashion risks of the night, but we don't feel like it paid off. The detailing of her dress showcased her every curve, which we liked, but maybe there was just a bit too much of it around her breasts and ribs?
Best Dressed: Laura Bell Bundy had one of the most fun looks on the red carpet, taking the typical black and white and turning it on its ear. Laura's strapless mini dress featured some cool floral detailing and a sweep of a train in the back that showed off plenty of leg and some hot red shoes!
Worst Dressed: The Goldbergs star Hayley Orrantia had one of our least favorite looks on the red carpet, with a dress that was a combo of bright red lace up top and crazy bright too-long-curtain print on the bottom.
