Jermaine Jackson: 'Michael Would Die Over Again If He Heard What They Were Doing' (VIDEO)

It's been five years since Michael Jackson passed away, but new songs are still being released from the late music icon. On Wednesday, his posthumous music video for "A Place With No Name" debuts in Times Square, but that isn't the first time the world has seen and heard "Michael" perform after his death. At the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, a Michael Jackson hologram took the stage, moonwalking amid pyrotechnics and singing in a "live" performance.
Michael's older brother Jermaine hadn't been watching that awards ceremony, but heard about the hologram from his son Jaafar. "He called me and he said, 'Dad, did you see what they did to Uncle Michael?'" Jermaine tells Oprah during a sit-down for "Oprah: Where Are They Now?". "He said, 'It didn't even look like him, it didn't move like him. It seemed like it was a body double.'"
When Jermaine saw Michael's hologram for himself, he agreed. "It's not good," he says in the above video, shaking his head.
Not only was it strange for Jermaine and his family to see the hologram, but hearing it was uncomfortable too. During the performance, Michael's hologram sang new, unreleased songs that the King of Pop had worked on prior to his death. The same week that the Billboard Music Awards aired, an album of Michael's unfinished songs, which was recorded years before his death, was also released. And now, music videos are debuting.
Jermaine says these new sounds are completely unfamiliar to him. "What I'm hearing is not Michael -- at all," he tells Oprah. "I'll just say this: If Michael wanted this stuff out, he would have put it out. Bottom line."
He goes on to say that Michael himself would have never approved of the new music. "To put all these hip-hop beats to it... Michael would die over again if he heard what they were doing," Jermaine says.

LAPD Shoots, Kills Black Man During 'Investigative Stop'

The Los Angeles Police Department shot and killed a black man in South L.A. on Monday.
Police conducted an "investigative stop" in the Newton area around 8:20 p.m., according to a news release from the LAPD. "During the stop a struggle ensued, which resulted in an officer-involved-shooting. It is unknown if the suspect has any gang affiliations," the release continues. "The suspect was transported to a local hospital and after lifesaving efforts he succumbed to his injuries."
A woman claiming to be the deceased man's mother called KTLA and identified the man as Ezell Ford. Tritobia Ford said her son was lying on the ground and complying with the officers when he was shot three times.
An unnamed man who claimed to be Ezell Ford's cousin also spoke with KTLA.
“They laid him out and for whatever reason, they shot him in the back, knowing mentally, he has complications. Every officer in this area, from the Newton Division, knows that — that this child has mental problems,” he said. “The excessive force … there was no purpose for it. The multiple shootings in the back while he’s laying down? No. Then when the mom comes, they don’t try to console her … they pull the billy clubs out.”
Officer Jane Kim, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department, said a vigil had been scheduled for Tuesday night in response to the incident, according to USA Today.
No officers were injured during the incident, according to the LAPD. The Force Investigation Division is set to investigate.
The shooting comes just days after the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. Brown was fatally shot by a police officer in the St. Louis suburb on Saturday, Aug. 9. He was unarmed. Dorian Johnson, who was walking with Brown before the shooting occurred, claimed Brown was retreating from the officer with his hands up when he was shot, CNN reported. Ferguson police, however, say a "physical confrontation" occurred prior to this.
Looting and unrest has rocked the neighborhood in the days following Brown's death. At least four people, including two police officers, have been hurt and 47 arrested in the aftermath of the shooting, according to St. Louis' KMOV.

Robin Williams Once Secretly Fulfilled A Dying Girl's Wish

robin williams make a wish
Since Robin Williams’ passing on Monday, there has been no shortage of inspiring stories to help mourners honor the late actor.
But one particularly poignant event in the beloved comedian’s life was kept a secret, until now.
Back in 2004, the "Good Will Hunting" star arranged through the Make-A-Wish Foundation to meet with Jessica Cole, a young Greensboro, North Carolina, girl who was dying from brain cancer at the time, WFMY News reported.
Her final wish was to meet Williams -- her "hero" -- whom she particularly loved because of his role in “Mrs. Doubtfire.”
But when Jessica became too sick to travel to California to meet the Academy Award winner, he wouldn’t backtrack on his promise. He chartered a private plane, and they spent an afternoon playing cards and watching football.
"He acted like he had known her forever," Mark Cole, Jessica’s father, told the news outlet. "He was a lot of fun to be with."
Jessica passed away two months later.
Though this specific story is first making its rounds now, it was well-known that supporting sick kids was one of Williams' passion points.
The comedian was a long-time advocate for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He often visited young patients and surprised others in the hallways, MS News Now reported.
To help the organization raise funds, he got involved in their holiday campaigns. Last year, he appeared in a fundraising video with a girl named Darcy who was battling an inoperable brain tumor.
"Today the world lost an iconic man and entertainer, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital lost an incredible friend and supporter," the organization said in a statement on Monday. "His humor brought bright smiles and laughter to our patients and families and his generosity deeply touched the hearts of all who knew him."
